Hostal Casa Culebra Policies & Guidelines

Reservation Process: Your villa is considered reserved once Hostal Casa Culebra (HCC) has collected required information and a 50% deposit of the total.

Management: We do not have staff on the premises 24 hours a day, like a typical hotel, but you can always reach us at 787-742-0762. We will get back to you as soon as possible. It is best to get special requests in early in the day, so we can plan accordingly with staff.

Emergencies: We want you to feel comfortable during your stay, so if there is something that requires managements attention, do not hesitate to call us at 787-742-0762. For health or safety emergencies, please call the phone numbers posted in your villa. Contact us or have another guest contact us as soon as possible to notify us of any situations.

Security: The Hostal Casa Culebra property and it's dock is under 24 hour surveillance for your safety. Our guests security is of the utmost importance.

Check in: Check-in time is at 3:00 PM. If your arrival time differs, please notify management. We may be able to store your bags until check-in time or if your villa is ready, allow for early entry. These exceptions must be discussed before-hand with management.

Check out: Check-out time is at 11:00 AM.  Any arrangement for late departure must be requested on the day before and is subject to availability. Prompt check out is essential to allow time for our housekeeping staff to prepare the unit for the next guest.

Keys: Please return the keys to the manager’s office or leave them locked in your villa upon departure. You will be charged $45.00 for lost keys. If you decide to extend your stay, please contact us and we will be happy to accommodate your request, based on availability.

Maximum Occupancy: Strict fire code determines the occupancy level of each unit. That maximum allowance is stated on our villa website pages and cannot be exceeded at any time. In case the guest misrepresents the number of people in the group, the guest who made the reservation will be charged an additional $100 per extra guest for every night of the reservation regardless of how many nights the extra guest stayed.

Pets: While we love furry friends, no pets are permitted on the premises.

Noise: Loud music, excessively loud conversations or shouting are not accepted. It is important to us that all of our guests enjoy the tranquil environment promised at the HCC.

Visitors: The facilities at the Hostal Casa Culebra are for the exclusive use of guests only. We realize that our guests often travel to Culebra with friends that choose to find other accommodations. The HCC is happy to welcome guest of guests for up to two hours provided that management has been notified beforehand. Your security is our priority, therefore everyone on the premises must be identifiable. You are responsible for relaying house rules to your guests and will be held liable for your guests behavior and any damaged caused.

Being Green: Culebra being a small island has limited resources. Everyone who sets foot on this island is either participating in keeping Culebra beautiful or damaging it's fragile eco-system. Please, turn off the unit air conditioners when you leave your villa for the day. Our staff is authorized to enter your villa and turn it off during your absence. There are recycling bins near the HCC entrance. Please, consider helping minimize your footprint by separating your plastic, aluminum and paper trash from food trash. The landfill here is full and we cannot sustain the trash brought over from the big island. If you brought it here on your boat, consider taking it back. Fresh water is imported into Culebra and should also be used consciously. We and future generations thank you for being mindful.

Medical: . There is no hospital or pharmacy on Culebra, only a diagnostic and treatment center. Guests must be sure to bring all necessary prescription medication with them.

Dock: Non-guests are not permitted to dock their boats during their visit (includes private dock and moorings) If you are getting picked up by a water taxi, the boat may be tied down for a maximum of 15 minutes for embarkation/ disembarkation as long as the administration has been notified at least 24 hours beforehand. Cancellation & Refund Policy: Changes in schedule or cancellations must be communicated to Hostal Casa Culebra by sending us an email to stay@casasculebra.com. No telephone cancellations will be accepted. In order for us to accurately process the cancellation, you must provide us the original confirmation number, full name and reservation dates. You must realize that in order to make your stay possible, Hostal Casa Culebra has incurred an expense and resources to make it all happen for you and provide you with a pleasant stay. For these reasons, NO REFUNDS will be issued.

  • You may cancel up to 48 hours prior to arrival. A $50.00 cancellation fee will be imposed. You may reschedule your stay with us up to 60 days later than your original arrival date. You may not reschedule for holidays and long weekends (Examples: Semana Santa, Memorial Day, New Years Eve) Your deposit will be credited towards the new reservation. The balance will be charged the day of your arrival.

  • If the cancellation takes place less than 48 hours from your arrival date, the deposit will not be honored for a future stay. You may be honored your deposit under severe circumstances like death, hospitalizations or natural disasters. You must provide verifiable written evidence of the mishap. If accepted, your deposit will be honored up to 60 days after your scheduled arrival date.

  • If you cancel 24 hours before the reservation, the total amount of your stay will be charged. We advise buying tickets for travel to Culebra in advance. You will not be refunded if ferry or flights are unavailable the day of your visit.

  • A NO-SHOW, will be charged for the full length of your stay. You may be honored your deposit under severe circumstances like death, hospitalizations or natural disasters. You must provide verifiable written evidence of the mishap. If accepted, your deposit will be honored up to 60 days after your scheduled arrival day. 

Attention vessel owners: All house cancellations rules apply. Bad weather or small craft advisories will not be accepted as reasons for cancellations, as long as other means of public transportation are available like the ferry services or commercial airlines.
