Getting to, from and around Culebra ...
Air & Sea
Vieques Air Links
There are three common ways to get to Culebra. Driving and swimming are not on the list. You can bring your own boat and park at our docks. The passenger and cargo ferries are an inexpensive way of getting to the island, but are currently prone to delays and being sold out (during high season). The Ferry departs from Fajardo, which is about an hour from San Juan, approximately $100 cab ride. We recommend getting tickets in advance if possible, but must be purchased in person.
You can also fly to Culebra from San Juan International Airport, Isla Grande Airport, or Ceiba Airport. Isla Grande is a short cab ride from the international airport and offers less expensive fares. Ceiba Airport is close to Fajardo and will be the shortest and cheapest flight to Culebra. The three airlines with daily flights to Culebra are Air Flamenco, Vieques Air Links and Cape Air. For groups there are charter flights via Taxi Aereo and Air Margarita.
Part of the fun of Culebra is exploring the island. The best way to get to the beaches and see everything the island has to offer is by renting a golf cart or Jeep. Carlos Jeep Rental and Jerry's Jeep Rental offer both golf carts and Jeeps for rent. They will meet you at the ferry or at the airport.
If you do not want a vehicle during your stay, there are many taxis around the island to get you to where you want to go.
